Obituary of Elmer L. Spangler

Elmer  L. Spangler, 81, Pottstown

Elmer Spangler, 81,  husband to the late Roberta (Bobbie) Spence, passed away Saturday February 3, 2024 at home.

He was born June 25, 1942 in King of Prussia to the late  Elmer  and the late Helen (Noblitt) Spangler.  Elmer went to high school and was a graduate of Upper Merion High.  He moved to the Coventry area and spent most of his life in North Coventry.  Elmer enjoyed manicuring lawns for friends and established himself as a mechanic and landscaper.  Not only was this his hobby but also career.  In his past time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing.  It was not uncommon on a beautiful night for Elmer to enjoy a ride on his Harley.

Elmer leaves behind four children:  three sons:  John (Jack) M. Cassady, Sr., Stephen L. Spangler and Brian E. Spangler, Sr. and one daughter:  Michele Spangler; four grandchildren:  John Michael Cassady Jr., Brian Elmer Spangler, Jr., Amanda and Jessica Boccella.   Preceded in death is his daughter, Kelly Ann Spangler.

A funeral Service will be held on Thursday February 8, 2024 at 7 PM at the Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral home 135 Bridge Street Spring City, PA 19475.  Visitation will precede the service starting at 5:30 PM.  Burial will be private.
