Oh Elmer… I’ve been working at Dollar Tree for 7 years now. I met Elmer on my 2nd week there and was instantly a fan. He’d come in at least once a week and hang out and talk with all of us. He’d tell us about his kids, grandkids, and the neighborhood kids that he’d give packs of cookies to. We’d lecture him about riding his motorcycle but we knew he’d never stop. Elmer was definitely one of the best. He’ll always be my favorite customer and I’ll miss seeing him in his Christmas sweaters, coming in to buy decorations for the next holiday. We’ll never forget him. I’m just sorry we couldn’t be there to support the family and tell you all how just that 20 minutes a week, that he spent hanging out with us and checking in, was always a fun time. God bless you, Elmer ❤️

Elmer was the other corner guy in our neighborhood. My family enjoyed seeing his holiday decorations and we didn't understand how he would change the decorations so fast. He was friendly and would always wave as you went by. I enjoyed his neighborly way and watching him ride his Harley around. My family will miss him. RIP Elmer. Darian Elliott

Elmer was an amazing man. So kind, thoughtful, helpful, very hard-working, and funny! I bought the house across the street from him 7 years ago and I would have never survived without his constant assistance and support. He mowed my lawn, gathered and disposed of my leaves each fall, helped me decorate for the holidays, brought me my mail daily, jumped my car twice and my tractor once. He took me in his truck to pick up furniture several times and always had doggie treats in his pocket for his daily visits with them. The most special thing he did for me was dig up a baby tree that I planted in my front yard but could not keep alive, and he planted me a new one, while I was at work. I am so grateful that I will always be able to look at that tree as it grows over the years and think of my buddy who I will always treasure.
