Normally I would rally, and stand up and share. But today I couldn't even visit Betty and her girls and the families. I could only sit and watch. I've only known Jim and Betty for a few years. I live on their property. Beginning with two dogs and a cat. Jim took to my lab Harley right out of the gate, he would come over every day while I worked and took Harley and bacon out with him, bacon was his second choice. Harley was his boy Harley followed him all over the place Jim would come in to my home and sit on my couch and pet Harley while I was not there. I could text him to say hey I'm not going to make it home can you let the dogs out and he'd say yep. I go outside and Jim would be working either on his computer in the home or in his shop and I would be startled because he would just scream. The first time I went up to the window and I said Jim you okay, he said oh yeah I just do that and I said okay so years and years of him screaming I would know that he was okay and I would just giggle or say Jim you scared the s*** out of me. He was so proud to show me all of his projects and Betty would just look at me and I would look at her and kind of giggle to each other. But betty said to me a couple weeks ago that she has never met a kinder man. Iit broke my heart I have watched her now for weeks and weeks as she walks around in one of Jim's shirts and a hat every now and then. What a lovely family this is. The grandbabies just support their mom mom and pop pop, and are always over here helping .I didn't share with Gracie, but your pop pop thought you were the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. So proud of you. I am going to miss him dearly.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Jims passing. I have so many memories of him that come to mind but some of my favorites were of him taking me fishing out in Strathmere NJ. Another great memory is him making funny comments while playing pinnacle against his sister. He will be missed.

I was so gutted to hear of Jim’s passing. It is difficult to imagine the pain you all must be suffering. Jim was one of a kind – the type for whom the mold was absolutely broken. But for all of his eccentricities, I always knew Jim to be a kind and gentle soul…with a big laugh, and a bigger smile. I hope those are the qualities you remember in your mourning. The world will be a little less colorful (and probably a bit quieter) without Jim bringing the ruckus, but for my part- life was a bit brighter in having known him. That laugh was infectious. Sending lots of love and the warmest thoughts to yourselves, Betty, and the rest of the Yeager family as you navigate the difficult road ahead.
xoxo,
Paul

Hello. I’ve never met you but heard a lot about you and your sister as you were growing up. I’m a Tech Ed teacher at Boyertown middle school West. I had your dad for a teacher when I was in junior high. He and Joe Miller are one of the bigger reasons I decided to become a tech Ed teacher. Your dad had a way of reaching kids that I’ve never seen anyone else have. Tonight was our parents night and I was speaking to one of our parents who had your dad as a teacher as well. She got a little emotional when I told her your dad just passed away. Your sister and mom should know that your dad meant a lot to hundreds if not thousands of people that he had taught. He was an amazing man.
My thoughts are with you all.

I rode back & forth to Textile with Jim & a couple other guys while we worked on our Master's degrees. Jim was always kind, fun, helpful, entertaining...a fantastic guy. The love he had for his family was obvious. My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family & friends. I pray the warm memories you have will be of comfort.

Mr. Yeager is probably the teacher who had the biggest impact on me. He encouraged my art, inspired me to continue woodworking, and even got me out of some of those boring classes to paint a smily face on his Metro! I'm truly saddened that he's no longer brightening everyone's day. My condolences to his immediate family. I can't imagine the hole that's left in your hearts.

Jim was my friend for nearly fifty years. Although our brains were wired quite differently, we shared a mutual admiration for those things we lacked but were abundant in the other. But it wasn't our long conversations about theology, cosmology, Russian literature, or post-Romantic orchestral music that made me value Jim as a friend. It was his qualities as a human being. I'm a little picky about whom I call a "friend." I don't like people who are unkind, dishonest, mean-spirited, unforgiving, intolerant, and have oversized egos, and I would not consider someone with any of those characteristics a friend of mine. Jim, however, was one of the kindest, most honest, understanding, forgiving, accepting, and humbly modest people I've ever known. He was no more perfect than any of the rest of us, but he was a truly and genuinely good man. I felt privileged to have him for a friend, and I will miss him a great deal.

My teacher, mentor, and dear friend. I will miss you dearly. I'll miss your weekly calls for computer help, soliciting advice for your latest innovation, talking about women, and sharing a Coors Light with you. Thank you for all you have taught me not only in the classroom, but in life. You were a light to many and I too shall share your stories to those that I encounter in life.

Jim and I had an excellent friendship for 56 years. I am extremely sad to see him go. We always “checked in” with each over email or cell phone. Jim always had a positive can do attitude and was always a pleasure to be around. My life has been a better one having Jim as my friend. Ken Karmazyn
