Marion A. Walters, age 98 of East Coventry PA died on Tuesday May 11, 2010 in the Manatawny Manor. She was born in Lake, Mississippi a daughter to the late John H. and Jane E. (Marion) Walters. Marion was a resident of Montoursville, PA until 1976; she was employed at the Home Dairy Bakery and the Lycoming Hotel. She then found her calling as a switchboard operator for the AVCO Co., now Textron, until her retirement. Marion then moved to Pughtown to live with her sister Harriet. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and puzzles. She is survived by her niece: Mary, wife of Thomas Ahearn, and nephews, John, husband of Joanne Frederick, Gary, husband of Joanne Sweeley, and Frederick, husband of Cathy Walters; a cousin, Harry Walters; several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters: Helen Sweeley, Lois M. Lundy and Harriett M. Frederick and 2 brothers, John and Frederick Walters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Manatawny Manor, 30 Old Schuylkill Rd., Pottstown, PA 19465. Burial will be private. Memorial gifts may be made in her memory to the Manatawny Manor Activity Fund. The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home Spring City is handling the arrangements.
