Leonard M. Schantz, age 77, husband of the late Betty Lou (Hoff) Schantz of Spring City, PA died on Thursday at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Allentown a son of the elate Elvin and Ida (Miller) Schantz. Leonard resided most of his life in Spring Cit and Phoenixville, he was employed for the (CCA) Container Corporation of America for 36 years retiring in 1999. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Spring Cit American Legion Post 602, Thomas W. O'Connor and a life member of the Liberty Fire Company of Spring City. He is survived by sons: Leonard L. husband of Christine Schantz of Exeter, Richard A. Schantz of Spring City, Donald H. Schantz of King of Prussia and Mark J. Schatz of Spring City and a daughter: Barbara wife of Bruce Wentworth of Spring City. And also survived by two grandchildren and sister: Mary Jane Hoagey of Pottstown and a brother: William Schantz of Parkerford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday May 12, 2010 at 12:30pm at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Bridge and Church Streets Spring City, the Rev. Evelyn Wentworth officiating; Burial will follow with military honors in the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia.
