Obituary of Francis J. Alio

In the early hours of Sunday, April 30th, the sweet aroma of fresh cookies, cakes and donuts filled the air as Francis “Frank” J. Alio Jr. entered into eternal life as Heaven’s newest baker. Frank, beloved husband of Denise (Sierzega) Alio and father of Danielle and Courtney Alio passed away at Abington-Jefferson Memorial Hospital from a brief battle with cancer. He was 66 years old. Frank, originally from Ambler, resided in North Wales. He was born on October 10, 1950 to the late Francis Alio, Sr. and Joan (Goettner) Alio. Frank graduated from Pierce College in Philadelphia with an Associates degree in business. He spent his summers working at his family’s business, Park Bakery, in Seaside Park, NJ. During the off-season, Frank held various jobs and lived life to the fullest. He spent a lot of time traveling the country with close relatives. He enjoyed caring for his horse, Muffin. He had a passion for drag racing and driving around in his green mustang. He opened a bakery in Flourtown, Pa called the Flourtown Bakery where he also worked with family. He made a name for the bakery with the delicious from-scratch recipes that have been handed down for generation. There are no baked goods like them. In 2014, Frank starred in a Food Network reality show that showcased his bakery. He operated his business for 40 years before retiring. With his wife and daughters, he had many wonderful memories. They traveled to Europe together, enjoyed going on cruises, rode some of the world’s fastest roller coasters and spent countless hours at Disney World just to name a few. Frank lived his life for others. He was always there for his friends and family. He will be remembered as someone with a heart of pure gold. He was surrounded with a lot of love. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, mother, three sisters and two brothers as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Thursday May 4, 2017at 11am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (424 S.Main Street North Wales PA 19454) with the Rev. Monsignor James J. Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Ann’s Cemetery, Phoenixville PA. Visitation will be held at the church Thursday from 9:45am to 10:45am.
