Christine H. (Hughes) eagle, age 91wife of the late Samuel J. Eagle of Chester Springs formerly of Phoenixville, died on Sunday at her residence. She was born in Spring City a daughter to the late Horace and Margaret (Kring) Hughes, Mrs. Eagle resided most of her life in Phoenixville. Mrs. Eagle was a graduate of the former Spring Cit High School and also a graduate of West Chester University with a Bachelor Degree in Education. She began her teaching career in Telford and Spring City; she than taught four year old children at the Charlestown Play House for 14 years and than taught, in 1965 she was employed as a teacher at the Schuylkill Elementary until she retired from teaching in 1983. Mrs. Eagle was an active member of the First United Church of Christ in Spring City where she volunteered as a Sunday School Teacher, and with Adult Fellowship. She was a member of the Spring City Library Women Club and served on the Board of Directors of the Northern Chester County Visiting Nurses Association for many years. She is survived by a daughter: Judy wife of Keith Newhouse of Chester Springs, and a granddaughter Erica wife of Chris Kasper of New York, she is preceded in death by a cousin with whom she was raised: Viola Kockel, Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Friday at 11:00am at the First United Church of Christ 345 Chestnut Street Spring City The Rev. Erick Kern officiating, Visitation will be held Friday morning in the church from 10-11am. Burial was held privately in the Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville.
