Clair W. Hunter, 82, widower of the late Mary Lou Hunter, died on his birthday, Tuesday May 31, 2016. Born in Pottstown and was raised by the late Wellington Hunter, his father, and his grandmother, Lillie Thomas, Clair graduated from Royersford High School and spent most of his life in the Spring City area.
Clair was employed as a mold maker for Anchor Glass Company, fomerly The Diamond Glass Company. His passion in life was collecting, you name it, and Clair collected it. He served our country in the U.S. Army and National Guard.
Clair is survived by his two children: Patti L. Dellaquila (Michael) of Spring City and Terry L. Hunter (Kathy) of Enola, PA.; four grandchildren: Kevin, Matthew, Sean and Amanda and six great grandchildren and his faithful companion Shirley Horner of 12 years. Preceding him in death was his grandson, Benjamin.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at the Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral home with the Rev. John Shantz officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Limerick Garden of Memories.
