Hazel M. Shaner, widow of Harvey J. Shaner of Spring City, died, Monday, June 8, at The Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late W. Rentz and Ada (Loomis) Mourar. She was born in Pughtown, and graduated from The North Coventry High School in 1935.
Hazel was a very active member of The Spring City Methodist Church, and retired from The Spring City WAWA after many years. She loved to cook, bake, and crochet. She also loved flowers, working in her flower beds and the outdoors. She also loved to play pincochle
She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce, wife of Lonny Moore, of Bethany Beach, Delaware, and Sandra Mull, fiancé of John Reed of Royersford, and a son Donald Shaner, fiance of Lenora Dillinger of Millsboro, Delaware, 5 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren; in addition, she is survived by her sisters, Betty June Bodolus of Pottstown, and two brothers Donald of Reading and Jack of Elverson and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased in death by her sisters Ruth Ellis, Pearl Hall, Edith Rinewalt, and Mary Egrie, and brothers Charles, Rentz, Jr., Edward and Douglas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday, June 11, at 10:30 AM at The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home 135 Bridge St. Spring City, with The Reverend Dennis Keen officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to10:30 on June 11, at the funeral home. Burial will be held at The Limerick Garden of Memories,
