Richard W Wenzel, 94, Pottstown Richard W Wenzel, 94, husband of the late Wilhelmina (Lent) Wenzel of Spring City died Monday in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Spring City to the late William and the late Elsie (Breidebach) Wenzel. He worked at the former Belmont Steel Company in Royersford,. He then worked at Royersford Spring Company, and retired from Spring Ford School District. Richard was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Spring City, PA and The Friendship Fire Company in Royersford. His is survived by his four children, son, Larry A. Wenzel, husband of Mary, of Massachusetts, and daughters Judith Major, wife of the late Lawrence "Bud" Major, Mary Brown, wife of William Brown of Pottstown, and Donna Paschall Dafter, wife of Vincent Dafter of Langhorn, PA, , 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. He is predeceased by a brother John William "Bud' Wenzel ,and sisters Ruth Dering and Florence Finkbiner, and a granddaughter, Lisa Roach. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, June 5, at 11:00 AM, at Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge St. Spring City, PA 19475 with The Reverend Paul Townsend officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 10 to 11 AM.
