David Merroth, Chester Springs David Merroth age 86, husband of the late Jean S. (Strickland) Merroth, of Shannondell formerly of Chester Springs died on Tuesday morning in the Meadows of Shannondell. David was born in Malvern, PA a son to the late Charles and Dorthea (Sautter) Merroth. He resided most of his life in Chester Springs, he was a graduate of Treddyfrin Easttown High School and was employed for forty three years at the former Sunny Slope and West Dairies until retiring as General Manager. David was a member of St John's Lutheran Church, Pottstown where he was very active serving on many committees and church council. David also was active in his community serving on the Owen J. Roberts School Board for over twenty years. He is survived by daughter: Deborah Merroth-Ahola wife of William Ahola of Collegeville and sons: Stephen H. husband of Nancy Merroth of Chester Springs and Michael T. Merroth of Royersford, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters: Caroline Melchor and Rebekah Matchner and Brother: Charles Merroth and Companion: Bonnie Ziegler. He is predeceased by son: David Thomas Merroth. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 am at the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church 2440 Conestoga Road Chester Springs, PA. The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Krommes will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. His viewing will be held Saturday morning in church from 9am to 10:45am. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made in his memory to the St. Matthews Church 2440 Conestoga Rd.
