Obituary of Rae S. McGarr Jr.
Please share a memory of Rae to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, nephew, uncle, and friend, Rae Stuart McGarr Jr., on Friday, January 17, 2025.
Rae leaves behind his loving wife of 20 years, Andrea, and four children: Brittani Bertonazzi (Dan), Cory McGarr (Rebecca), Austin McGarr (Addy), and Alli McGarr. Rae was also a devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren and a cherished son to his mother, Barbara Catti (Andrew), and his father, Joseph DiTomo (Wanda). He is survived by his sisters Stacy Stamp (Wayne), Brandi Phan (Ray), and Toni DiTomo, as well as five nieces and nephews who brought joy to his life. He is preceded in death by his father, Rae Stuart McGarr Sr.
Rae’s career was marked by dedication and hard work. He began his professional journey at Martin Steel in Newfield, New Jersey, and went on to work for Erlich Pest Control in Vineland, where he started as a technician. His drive and passion quickly led him to roles in sales and operations, ultimately rising to the position of Regional Director for Rentokil Terminix. Rae took immense pride in developing the people who worked with him, and his competitive nature and leadership skills were key to his success.
Outside of his career, Rae lived life to the fullest. His love for family was at the core of everything he did, and he could often be found enjoying his time with his children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Rae’s passion for travel took him far and wide, from France to Costa Rica—he was always eager to discover new places and embrace adventure. He was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports and took great joy in cheering for his teams. Rae also had a deep passion for golf, often spending time at the driving range or enjoying a round of golf whenever possible.
Rae’s humor and infectious spirit touched the hearts of everyone he met. His memory will live on through the many lives he impacted and the legacy of love and dedication he leaves behind.
A celebration of Rae’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, at 11:00am EST at Christ’s Church of the Valley, 1560 Yeager Road, Royersford, PA 19468.
