Obituary of Lois E. Omelko
Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lois E. Omelko, 83, of Royersford, PA, passed away at home on November 27, 2024. Born on October 2, 1941, in Phoenixville, PA, she was the beloved wife to Paul Omelko and the daughter of the late Romanus and Grace Benkoski.
Lois was a proud graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School. She began her career as an elementary teacher at St. Eleanor School, where she inspired young minds and left a lasting impression. Later, she excelled in human resources roles at Comcast and Diamond Glass before transitioning to Wegmans, where she enjoyed serving her community in the deli section.
Lois was a proud member of the Royersford VFW and the Friendship Firehouse of Royersford.
An artist at heart, Lois found joy in freehand drawing, capturing beauty through her art. She had a great sense of humor and showed kindness to everyone she encountered. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel often, enjoy casino trips, fishing and playing bingo at the VFW. She faithfully watched every Phillies and Eagles game. Lois was known for her colorful attire, crazy socks, wearing her comfy sweatshirts or sipping on an occasional Manhattan. She was honored to be the big sister to her two brothers who she loved dearly. She spent countless outings at both the shore and the mountains with her dearest and most treasured friends from “Club”. She adored and was welcoming to all of her family including her in-law’s and out-law’s. Most of all, Lois cherished being a wife to her loving husband, a devoted mother to her children, a doting Mimi to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, creating a life filled with love and laughter.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Joseph Friel III (Patty), Kevin Friel (Doreen), Kerry Mihalcik (Andy), Sandy Robertson (Robbie), Mike Omelko (Lisa), Lisa Wilson (Sam), and Mark Omelko (Leigh); her brothers, Buddy Benkoski (Pat) and John Benkoski (Arlene); her twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Lois was predeceased by her parents, Romanus and Grace, as well as her beloved sons, Kris Friel and John Omelko.
A celebration of Lois’s life will be held Sunday May 11, 2025. More details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made Give 2 CHOP , honoring Lois’s memory.
