Obituary of Wayne G. Long Jr.

Wayne G.  Long, 90, Limerick Township 

Wayne G. Long, husband to the late Anna Long,  passed away Monday October 14, 2024 in the Tower Health Pottstown Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Spring City, he was the son of the late Wayne G., Sr. and the late Hazel (Powell).  Wayne has been a member of the Limerick community since 1958.  A graduate of Spring City High School, Wayne served our country in the Army.  After the Army, he worked various jobs including working for Philco.  In 1963 Wayne started his contracting business, Wayne G. Long, Builder.  He loved bringing people’s dreams to life by building their homes.  He took a lot of pride in his work and providing for his family.  During retirement, Wayne and Anna enjoyed traveling in their RV, spending time at their weekend home in Lewes, Delaware and spending time with family and his dogs.  

Wayne was married to the late Anna Long.  They were married 63 years and had five children.  He leaves behind:  Laurie (Scott) Moser, Wayne J. (Patricia) Long, Sharon Quay and Gary S. Long, Sr. (Amanda).  His daughter Sandra McAfee preceded him in death.  He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister, Nancy Sypherd.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 11:00 AM  at the Tri County Bible Church, 142 Buchert Road, Gilbertsville, PA 19525.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 -11 AM.  Burial will be immediately following at the Limerick Garden of Memories.
