Evelyn Mary (France) Courtright, age 95 wife of the late George Courtright, died on Wednesday January 24, 2024 at her daughter's home in Mont Clare, PA.

Evie was born in New Philadelphia, OH, a daughter to the late Pat and Mary (Clauser) France. Evelyn resided most of her life in Ohio and was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School.

She was employed for many years as Office Manager for the Times Reporter newspaper where her husband was Circulation Manager.   She also worked as a layout artist at Shaw-Barton. Evie enjoyed movies, reading, and in her younger days, traveling with her husband and family. She enjoyed camping, fishing and spent her time watching tennis. She made yearly trips to visit her sisters, nieces and nephews in Oklahoma. She also made two trips to Italy to visit both her mom’s home & her dad’s, including climbing Mt Etna, walking & eating all the local food.

Evie leaves behind her caring family and is survived by her daughter Jeanne Reese (Tom) and  her sister Katherine “Jean” Furbay and 2 granddaughters, Kim Reese (Barry Morse) and Kelly Reese (Doug Leaman) and 4 great grandchildren: Zachary and Chloe Leaman, Cameron and Benjamin Morse. She also leaves behind 6 nieces and a nephew, including Debbie Riggs (McCall Bundy) and Mike Riggs (Debbie) with whom she would spend extended time in Oklahoma. A sister-in-law Ann Courtright and daughters Susan, Rebecca, Miriam, Jane and Nancy are part of her immediate family.  She was preceded in death by a son, James Courtright and her sister Ann Riggs (Olen Riggs).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Evie’s Memorial Service on 24 February 2024 at 2pm. Visitation will begin at 1pm. The Memorial service will be at the R. Strunk Funeral Home 400 Main St. Phoenixville PA 19460.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made in her memory to either Phoenixville Area Community Services https://www.pacsphx.org/  or Days for Girls https://www.daysforgirls.org/ , both charities she volunteered with. When the weather gets nice, have an ice cream cone in her memory. A drive to Petrucci’s was her favorite.
