John was my friend at Bucknell. He was simultaneously wise and irreverent.
Kind of reminded me of Columbo- rumpled
He urged me to stop smoking. In a funny way we cared about each other.
I am so very sad.

I was a patient of Doc Moser for many years and had many, many visits with him. We got to know each other quite well during that time. I have never in my life met a more compassionate, kind man and a wonderful doctor. In fact, not only did the Doc see me, he also saw my Sister, my Husband, and my two children. I always meant to go and see him after I moved, but with my present health and time getting away from me, that never happened. My sincere condolences to the family and he will be missed.

Dr. Moser was the Dr. at the Brandywine Campus of Devereux while I worked there. When we went for our physicals, Dr. John also made us laugh and we loved listening to his stories. He usually had his dog with him to great the clients. He was a wonderful man who will be missed throughout the community. Rest in peace Dr. Moser You'll always be in my memories.

I , just today, heard of the passing of John, or Dr. Moser, as I always referred to him as my boss. But, working with him for a long time in his office at Twin Valley Medical Center is one of my life long, good memories! We had a blast. I still live across the street from the office and often reflect on those years and starting the practice with John, Millie Ritchie and Marie Schildt. The sailing trip, the fun at Haycreek and the picnics at John and Aggie’s house. The Christmas parties at 7 Star’s Hotel. I could go on and on with stories. My great regret is that I did know of John’s passing to be able to reminisce with the family and friends. He will always be dear to me and his memory is imbedded in my heart. My deepest sympathy to the family and those who share in my grief at his loss. Autumn, Christian, and Damian you were his pride and joy! Love to you all and know your Dad touched my and my family’s lives in a very positive and endearing way! God Bless. Connie Fasnacht, RN and Merv!

Q: What did Dr. John like to do in their free time?
A: John and I spent countless hours building and repairing his sail boat. He was always unorganized and had tools scattered throughout the garage. I spent more time cleaning up after him then building the sail boat!
I remember John's huge smile the first time the sail boat hit the waters of the Chesepeke. It was a privilege to sail with you John. Thanks for all the great memories and laughs.

I walked these streets with you....................lyrics that come to mind as I reflect on my 62 year experience with my friend John.
What a long strange trip its been my friends! Quite a character, a devoted family physician, champion "de-pantser", and a good father.
Condolences to the Moser family.............. superlative job on the "no holds barred" video tribute.
I got a phone message from Damien saying he was hoping folks would bring their recollections of this "one of a kind" guy. Seems like a little roasting may be in order............no mooning please!

I will always remember John for his intellect, his humor, his athletic talent … and, most of all, for being a very special, caring friend. Not pretentious or ostentatious, he seemed comfortable and authentic with any group. He didn’t need to showcase his brilliance and hilarity; they were just ‘him’.
Many memories … not enough reunions!
Gone too soon … anytime would be too soon!
With love and condolences to the family,
Elaine (Wiley) Schwenker

Although I left Spring City and the area many years ago, Spring City never left me. I think back on the neighborhoods and all those networks of kids...always up to something either in class or "at large" in the streets, woods, fields and back yards of summer. John's house was a center of activity with Betsy, Maggie, Chrissie, Buster and Mugs. If he wasn't in the middle of things at that end of town....he certainly wasn't an innocent bystander.
If it weren't for him I'd have never had that bit part in the history of Spring City Centennial pageant. I was home on leave in 1967 watching the parade from the hotel porch and he said, "put on some old clothes, walk out and lean on a shovel with us tonight as WPA workers". I did and I owe him big time for my stage career. ;>)
I last saw him in around 1990 when I dropped in on him at his practice in Morganton and had hoped to see him at our 50th class reunion. That was not to be so the next time we meet will be on the other side where we'll have a lot of laughs about the past.

I'll miss you Doc soo much! All your dirty jokes, your sassy comments, your adamant beliefs on science and medicine, and your old school ways just being Doc! I wish I could have helped make your retirement years more enjoyable & memorable for you.

I have known/worked with Dr. Moser over the years. He had a joke for the kids that has stuck with me to this day. In fairness, i think he got the joke from a boys life magazine. None the less it made the kids laugh and to this day, i use the same joke. "What do you call a fish with two knees"..........." A Two Knee fish"....aka a " Tu Nee Fish"...
Sorry for your loss and remember the good times.....

So sorry to hear of John's passing. I sat next to John in 5th and 6th grade, Spring City and there wasn't a day gone by that John wasn't up to something! He had that impish gleam in his eye and one never knew what to expect. The world has lost a whole 'library' with John gone.

My condolences to the Moser and extended families on your loss. It seems like “Yesterday” when my husband, who is deceased, & I attended Dr. John’s Graduation from Medical School, sitting in a Balcony, at the Academy of Music. Helped celebrate his wedding at a party held at the Arch St residence of Dr Chris Moser. My daughter Lisa and I made several trips to the Morgantown Office and was so at ease and NO “White-Coat” Syndrome. Remembering the “Good Times”. Patricia (Pat) Plumley

My condolences to the family. May God be with you in your time of sorrow. I met John later in life and he was so incredibly smart and had the best personality. I remember cracking up all the time over his dry sense of humor. You will be missed!!
