Obituary of Betty Lee Fry

Betty Lee Fry, 95, Spring City

Betty Lee Fry, 95, loving wife of 60 years to the late Charles Fry, passed away on Wednesday March 15, 2023 at Arcadia of Limerick.

She was born on March 31, 1927 in Broadway, Virgina to the late Mervin Armentrout and Sally Armentrout (Sellers). Betty moved to the Spring City area at the age of 6, when her father took a job there. She attended Spring Ford High School for a few years, before marrying her husband Charles in Delaware on December 25, 1942. Betty and Charles had one son together, Barry, whom she is preceded in death by.

A loving wife and mother, Betty was a voice of wisdom.She will be remembered as a true lady, as she never left the house without her pearls, as she believed “you should always try to look your best because you never know who you might meet.”

Betty leaves behind two grandchildren, Holly Matus (David) and Kevin Fry, two great-grandchildren: Nicole Geary (Ben) and Courtney Gushue (Charles), along with 2 great-great grandchildren: Cooper and Calvin Geary.

A service will be held on Friday March 31, 2023 at 11:00 am at Shalkop, Grace, & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street Spring City, PA. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Interment will be immediately following the service at Limerick Garden of Memories.
