William F. “Bill” Miller, 62, Phoenixville

William F. “Bill” Miller., age 62, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 18, 2023. Bill was born in Phoenixville to the late Samuel J. and Suzanne (Drabinsky) Miller.

Bill was a 1978 graduate of Phoenixville High School and studied History for 2 years at Millersville State College (now University). He was employed as a Bulk Mail Technician for the United States Postal Service, where he worked for 32 years until his retirement. Prior to his passing, Bill was a school bus driver for Phoenixville School District.

Bill has resided in Phoenixville, PA for his whole life, and was very active in his community. He was an active member of the Spring-Ford Masonic Lodge #553, the Tall Cedars Spring City Forest No. 34, the Phoenixville Veterans of Foreign War, and the Sons of America Legion. He was a volunteer taps player for many veteran funerals. He considered it to be an honor to be able to do that for the Veterans and their families and he refused to do anything but play it live on the trumpet. He had a tremendous respect for those that served our country and instilled those values in his daughters. He played taps for the Phoenixville Dogwood parade, Memorial Day, Veterans Day at Reeves Park, and for the children at the former East Pikeland Elementary School and now Manavon Elementary.  In his free time, Bill was a grill master and enjoyed playing softball, fishing, golfing, and camping with his family.

Bill is survived by his wife Mary Louise (Clarke), daughters Christina and Corrine Miller, brother S. Jesse Miller Jr., mother-in-law Doris Selwitz, his extended family in-laws, Herbert and Kathleen Woodruff, Jim and Jane Nechin and Walter Stock. He is also survived by his nieces whom he dearly loved, Sarah Woodruff, Erin Timby, Hannah and Olivia Richards, Kelly and Andrea Stock and great niece Annie Timby. Bill had a lot of friends, too many to list all of them, but he left behind his dear friends from high school, David Anderson, David Goggin and the rest of the “Goggin boys”, Jim, John and Tom, and Darryl McCauley.

He was predeceased by sisters-in-law, Kathy Miller, Nancy Stock, and brother-in-law John Richards.

A Service will be held on Saturday February 25, 2023 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 315 Gay Street Phoenixville, PA at 10:30 am. Visitations will be held on Friday February 24, 2023 at the R.
