Nancy  R. Feldman, 84

On Friday, January 6, 2023, Nancy R. Feldman (nee Reber), passed away at the age of 84 peacefully at home surrounded in love by her daughter, Kelly Payne and son & daughter-in-law, Jeffrey & Jeanne Schanzenbach. A loving daughter, mother, sister, wife, and aunt throughout her life, Nancy is survived by grandchildren Lucas Gerber, Brian Schanzenbach (Julie), Lisa Clark (Garrett), great-granddaughter Vera Clark, her sisters Kathy Orlando (Frank) and Robin Sigmund (Scott) and brother, John Reber, former husband, George Schanzenbach, step-son, Alex Feldman and many nieces and nephews. Nancy is pre-deceased by her parents, Clarence Reber and Mildred Reber (nee Mildenberger), her husband Lewis Feldman and sister-in-law, Deanna Reber.

 

Born and raised in Reading, PA, Nancy spent most of her adult life in the Valley Forge area and had moved to Chestertown, MD in recent years. With a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University and a Masters from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Nancy led a life of service which included a career as a Speech Therapist, working with young children, the elderly, and patients who suffered head trauma.  Nancy was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Phoenixville, PA.  Nancy was a dedicated volunteer helping others through her Church and local charitable organizations.  Notably, Nancy was a long-term member and officer of the PEO Sisterhood, a US based international women’s organization with a primary focus on providing education opportunities for female students worldwide. Nancy’s favorite pastime was spending time at the beach, playing cards with family, and Bridge with various groups wherever she lived.

 

A funeral service will be held in Nancy’s honor on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 355 St. Johns Circle, Phoenixville, PA 19460.  Visitation will be held from 9:30-11 am with church service at 11 am and internment in the St. John’s Columbarium immediately following in the courtyard.
