Floyd L Segner, 101, Phoenixville
Floyd Segner, 101, Centenarian and American Patriot passed away Thursday May 19, 2022 in the Paoli Hospital.
As a second generation member of the Kimberton Community, Floyd was born October 1, 1920 to the late Everett L. Segner and Agnes Deery Segner. A graduate of the Class of 1938 of Phoenixville High School, Floyd served our country in the US Army in the Air Corps. He valiantly fought in WWII, Pacific Theatre including receiving three bronze Stars and an Asiatic Pacific Ribbon.
After his military service, He married Ethel Gerheart Segner and they raised a beautiful family. Floyd and Ethel were happily married for 60 years. Floyd retired from Superior Tube as a Machinist after 44 years. He loved his country and community. Floyd was a Life member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church, member of the Spring City Masons since 1947 and an American Legion Life Member.
He is survived by his two sons: Lee Edward Segner of Phoenixville and Gary Allen Segner of Phoenixville, Brother: Norman Segner (Althea) of Spring city and two nephews: Norman Jr. and Greg Segner
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 10-10:45 AM. A Masonic service will begin at 10:45 and a Funeral Service by Rev. Ghislaine Cotnoir at 11:00 AM at the R. Strunk Funeral Home 400 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. Military Honors and Burial will be immediately following at the St. Peters Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chester Springs PA
