Obituary of Emma L. Jones

Emma  L. Jones, 90,

Emma Jones, 90,  of Spring City, passed away early Sunday morning March 6, 2022 in the Chester County Hospital.

One of seven children, Emma was born July 11, 1931 in Norristown to the late Thomas  and the late Emma (Lynch) Jones. She spent most of her life in the Spring City area.  She worked at Rivercrest and in 1971 was a founding member of R House, Inc., a residential community in Spring City.  Emma was loved and cherished. There was a loose biography written about her by dear friend, Sarah Meck, “Smarter than the Raindrops”.

Emma was passionate about Angels and had an extensive Angel Collection.  She enjoyed eating out with friends and spending quality time with the people at R House.  She was a member of the Harvest Fellowship church and she loved to attend.  

Emma’s final wish was to donate her body for medical student’s research through Humanity Gifts Registry.  Emma leaves behind her best friend, Cindy Noble-Mohn and family and her R-House family Charlotte Hoffman, Berry Fleming, Larry Fleming, Luther Prescott and Janice Gibson along with the past and present staff that became Emma’s extended family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday March 26 in Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City, with Rev. Barry Parsons officiating.
