Met Big John in the pits at the Nascar races. He grew to become a friend while there. Thank you for feeding me. I make homemade jams and jellies and would share with him and the team. RIP my friend. I will miss you at the track.

I will always remember John as one that would help anybody and he would take care of everybody. He had a great support team everywhere he went. I will miss him at the racetrack but I will miss him more just being a friend. John & I loved talking about the Pennsylvania dirt tracks and he and I respected many of those dirt track racers…..
RIP John

My "little" brother, my heart is broken. We shared a lot of fun - and trouble - growing up. It was all worth it! Thanks for all the memories, old & new. I still watch & laugh at Green Acres because of you. Love you always, Esther

Cousin Johnny was my Hunting partner growing up. I don't think there was a farm or open field we didn't hunt throughout Central Bucks County. These adventures extended into Deer season when us two, along with my dad and his dad, Uncle Rocky, would hunt the pines and the swamps between the Northeast extension and Rt. 115 in Luzerne County. We'd pass by the folks that came up from the city who would only go off the road for a couple hundred yards while we walked the pipeline in for miles. I also have crazy memories of the time we concocted a way to put a small engine on a regular bicycle and call it a minibike. Unfortunate that we didn't connect up much later in life, but those memories remain. Say hi to your Mom and Dad as well as my Mom and Dad for me. God Bless Cuz!

I have known "Big" John for (approx) 25 years, through John Venuti & "The Hillside Hunting Camp". I would go there & help set up & clean for the "race" parties & hunting camp. There were a lot of good people there & Big John was one. He always was kind to everyone & told a lot of great stories. He did 99% of the cooking when he was there. It was always tasted wonderful. RIP Big John & say hi to John, Lynn, Smitty & the rest. Until we meet again good friend, your pal Dawn!

I never had the pleasure of meeting John, but his sister Rockie is a dear friend and she shared stories of his fascinating life & interesting career as a Nascar cook. In fact, the cookbook he wrote sits within arm's reach- I've been revisiting it all day, thumbing thru to re-read his stories/recipes and view his mouth-watering photos of the chow he fed the race-crews. I'll memorialize John by cooking his famous bbq ribs and grilled pineapple later this week. My warmest to his dear ones as they reminisce & celebrate John's big life.

My buddy and one of my best friends! He loved racing, and most definitely hunting, cooking, and most of all, taking care of people. He loved to feed you. A NASCAR Icon in the garage with a tremendous amount of passion for the sport and his friends. RIP my wonderful friend. I will miss you beyond what any words can describe. My heart is broken. I will see you again one day!
