Obituary of Peter A. Schmitz

Peter "Pete" A. Schmitz, 61, Lansdale

Peter Schmitz, 61,  father, grandfather and son, passed away Saturday December 25, 2021 at Temple Jeanes Hospital after a long courageous battle with Lymphoma.

He was born March 16, 1960. He attended Visitation BVM Elementary school, a graduate of Bishop Kennick in 1978 and a Villanova graduate in 1982 with his Bachelor of Science Degree.  Pete was a proud Eagle Scout and had a passion for fishing and camping all throughout life.  He was employed by IQVIA as a statistician and in his spare time enjoyed creating ceramic tile artwork.  He adored his children, grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.  

Pete leaves behind his mother Bette (Wheeler) Schmitz, daughter Ashley (Schmitz) DeStefano, son-in-law Kevin DeStefano, grandchildren:  Dominic Reinoso Calle, Charles DeStefano, Kyra DeStefano, Kevin DeStefano Jr. and several cousins and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his son Andrew Schmitz and father Karl Schmitz.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403 at 11 AM on Thursday, December 30, 2021, Rev. Robert Gross officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family prior to the Mass from 10:00 – 11:00 in the church.  Interment will be immediately following at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dekalb Pike, Norristown, PA 19401
