Obituary of JoAnn McFarland

JoAnn McFarland, 83

JoAnn McFarland, wife of Charles McFarland, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Phoenixville Hospital.

JoAnn was born to the late Charles Frick and the late Evelyn Reigner Frick.  JoAnn graduated in the class of 1955 from Spring City High School.  She married her high school sweetheart, Charles McFarland.  JoAnn and Charles loved their wonderful community, where they established a business and raised their two children. They also loved spending a chapter of their lives together at their home in Saint Michaels, Maryland. JoAnn held various interesting positions throughout her career. She was passionate about spending time with her family, cooking, reading and her faith. She had a very unique and creative eye, especially for interior decorating and gardening.

JoAnn leaves behind her adoring husband of 64 years, Charles McFarland and two children:

Missy McFarland, Wife of Scott Rau of East Coventry, and Rick McFarland of East Coventry.

Grandchildren: Amanda McFadden, Alyssa McFarland, and Casey Rau. Great grandchildren; Jeremiah McFadden. Her sister Judy Rogers and brother-in-law Charles Rogers, as well as several nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to attend the Funeral service held Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM, Brownback’s UCC Church, 640 Ridge Road, Spring City, PA 19475.  Masks are encouraged but not required if fully vaccinated:  masks must be worn if unvaccinated.  Social distancing of 3 feet is required.  No physical contact. Rev. Mark Stryjak officiating.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in JoAnn’s memory can be made to the Spring City Library.
