Charles "Pooch-Charlie" J. Gambone, 74, Reading
Charles Gambone, 74, loving husband of Patricia (Zabicki) Gambone, passed away unexpectedly, Friday May 28, 2021 in his home with his beloved wife at his side.
One of 8 Children, Charlie was born in Conshohocken to Charles J. Gambone Jr. and Agnes Keebler.
Charlie grew up in the Conshohocken area and attended St. Matthew’s high school where he played football, and graduated in 1965. After high school, he joined the Army Reserves and served our country for 6 years. Pooch worked in the family business, Gambone Brothers, for many years as a job superintendent, building homes throughout Montgomery County. Charlie married Patricia in 2002 and shared 19 years of marriage with her. Most recently, he lived and worked for SQS in the Reading area. He enjoyed his many grandchildren, golfing, cruising, and the docks of Chincoteague. Charlie will be remembered most for his sincere love and dedication to his family, as well as his contagious laugh.
Charlie leaves behind, his loving wife, Patricia, daughter, Alyssa Gambone (Irene) and three step children: Lindsey Schiller (Daniel), Adrienne Gauger (Russ), and Andrew Gumpert (Tanya). He also had Nine Grandchildren: Travis Schiller, Adam Schiller, Caroline Schiller, Toni Gumpert, Elek Gauger, Tamisin Gambone, Justin Gambone, Sebastian Gumpert, and Jesse Warden along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son: Erich Gambone
Siblings: predeceased Maryann Kurek (Dennis), Theresa Tolan (Micheal), Frances Fagen (Richard), William Gambone (Chrissy), Agnes Pennington (Arthur), Colleen Gambone, and Vincent Gambone (Susan).
A Private family service will be held at 10:30, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home.
