Obituary of Verna Waller Jackson

Verna  Waller Jackson, 90 , Spring City

Verna Jackson,90, widow of The Rev. Charlie Jackson, Jr.  went to be with her Lord Saturday December 26, 2020 in her home, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born in Royersford  to Jerry Waller and Benji Lou (Coles) Waller, and has lived in the Spring City, Royersford area her entire life.    She is a graduate of  the former Royersford High School, after which she obtained her nursing degree.  She subsequently worked for The Johnson Home, then Park House for 40+ years, retiring in 1995.  Verna was a very active member of The Bethel Baptist Church in Phoenixville where she sang in the choir, was an honorary trustee, and a member of The Awakening Echos.

She is survived by her three children, Thomas B. Waller, widower  of Barbara J. of the Poconos, Timothy J. Waller, husband if Diane Frick, of Spring City, and sister A. Elizabeth Waller of Spring City; 2 brothers, Larry Waller, husband of Eleanor  of Norristown, and Lynn “Pete”  Waller, husband of Joanne  of Phoenixville; 9 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sons, John P. Waller and Richard A. Waller, Sr; 5 sisters, Doris, Jean, Lavelle, Hazel, and Carol;  and 5 brothers, John, Tom, Phillip, Tim J.  and Kermit.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday January 02 in Shalkop Grace & R. Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City with Rev. Nathan Coleman officiating.

Visitation will be from 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM Saturday, January 02 prior to the service at Shalkop Grace & R. Strunk Funeral Home.

The Family requests floral contributions be sent to Bethel Baptist Church Phoenixville.
