Obituary of J. Warren "Cap" Fryer

J. Warren "Cap" Fryer age 86, loving husband of Dorothy(Sabo) Fryer of Spring City, died on Thursday morning in the Phoenixville Hospital. Cap born in Spring City a son to the late Warren and Grace Viola (Shaner) Fryer. He was a 1943 graduate of the formner Spring City High School. A vetertan of the United States Army serving during World War II in the Pacfiic Theatre. He was in the April 1, 1945 invasion of Okinawa, Sipan and Leyte. Recieving the Good Conduct Medal. Cap was a life long and faithful membero fthe St. VCincent United Church of Christ where he served in the past on the Cemetery Board. He owned and operated Fryer's Sunoco in Spring zCity ofr several years and then Fryer's Service for many years being in the Service Staion business for over 35 years until retirimneg in 1988. He was a membero fo teh Spring City American Legion Thomas W. O'Connor post 602, the a life membero f the Libert y Fire Comoany, Spring city and the Spring Ford Historical Society, and Antique Auto Club ands volunteered with the Fire Polkice in Spring City and Friends on Wheels Camping Club. Cap was an avid bowler sponsoring teams in bowling leagues, he also loved campinjg and in the past boating as a membero fthe former Hyline Boat Club of Black ROCK. In addition to his wife of 60 years he is survived by two sions: James Warren husbnam fof Ibi Fryer of limerick and Richard John Fryer of Bowers Beach, DE and 3 grandchildren": Rebecca Schaeffer, Jennifer Whelan and Stacey Sizemore, and 6 great grandchildren: Destiny,Gage,Cullen,Reilly, Jimmy, and Lexie. And a deceased sister: Naomi Bainbridge, ansd survived by several cousins and nieces and nephews.
