Frank N. Sciallo, age 79 husband of Jane (Mosteller) Sciallo, of Spring City, died on Tuesday April 19, 2011 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
He was born in and raised in Phoenixville a son of the late Nicola and Marie (Rosetti) Sciallo. Frank resided most of his life in Spring City, he and Jane were in their fifty sixth year of marriage, he was a graduate of the Phoenixville High School and served as a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War on the USS Taconic.
He was employed for several years at the former Cann & Saul Steel Company until its closure and then was employed at the Spring City Foundry until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spring City, and a life member of the Friendship Fire Co. in Royersford and the Liberty Fire Co. in Spring City. He was also a member of the Thomas w. O'Connor Post 602 Spring City American Legion. Frank was an avid Phillies Fan and mostly loved spending his time with his grandsons.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter: Mary Jane wife of Sam Fryberger of Spring City and two grandsons: Christopher and Stephen Fryberger. And a sister: Anna Cinciripino of Phoenixville and predeceased by a sister: Marie Foresta and a brother; Lawrence Sciallo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Sunday evening at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Bridge and Church Streets, Spring City from 6:30-8:30pm and on Monday morning from 8:30am -9:00am at the funeral home. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00am at the St. Joseph Church, Schuylkill Road, Spring City the Reverend Charles R. O'Hara officiating. Burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Parkerford.
