Obituary of Robert J. Bennett

Robert Joseph Bennett, 91, Spring City, passed away April 7, 2011, three days prior to his 92nd birthday, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Pearl Mae (Haldeman) Bennett to whom he was married for 48 years.
Born in Royersford, he was a son of the late Russell A. and Mary Catherine "Kit" (Yeagley) Bennett. Mr. Bennett resided in Spring City since 1941. He was a graduate of Royersford High School with the Class of 1937. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U. S. Army with the 69th and 98th infantry divisions. An employee of B. F. Goodrich, Oaks, he retired in 1981 after 37 years.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his only brother, Richard Yeagley Bennett, who passed away February 3rd of this year. Mr. Bennett is survived by his children, Craig Haldeman Bennett, Spring City, and Janet Bennett Kerlin, Souderton; granddaughter, Severine R. Bennett, Columbus, NC; and his special friend, Irma Gregoire, Spring City.
Viewings will be held on Thursday, April 14th from 6pm to 8pm and on Friday, April 15th from 11am to 1pm at the Shalkop Grace Strunk Funeral Home, Bridge and Church Streets, Spring City. Graveside services and interment will be private.
