Willard L. Hunsberger, 94, Red Hill
Willard L. Hunsberger, 94, widower of Thelma Hunsberger, died Saturday in Hospice House Of The VNA Of St. Lukes, Bethlehem, PA.
He was born in Spring City to Carl and the late Vinetta (Collopy) Hunsberger, and graduated from Spring City High School. After high school he served in the U. S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. During that time, he was a decoder and translator.
He worked and retired as a Metallurgist/researcher for Superior Tube Company in research and development. Willard was a 60 year member of The Masonic Lodge, and was the last surviving member of the "Shack Gang", a group of 30 members. He used George Washington's bible to be sworn in as a Mason.
Willard is survived by his two children, Diane Strouse (Ed) of Honey Brook, and Kevin Hunsberger (Linda) of Pottstown; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie in 1963. But, he outlived all three sisters and one brother.
