Roger S. Sellers, age 70, of Spring City, PA, passed away on June 18, 2025, at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born on May 14, 1955, in Phoenixville, Roger was the beloved son of the late Lorin B. Sellers Jr. and Sarah (Sower) Sellers. He was raised in the Spring City area and graduated from Spring-Ford High School in 1973. He went on to earn his degree in Electrical Engineering from Spring Garden College, a field in which he would build a lifelong career.
Roger worked for many years at Solid State Scientific, then at AT&T. He later worked at Lucent and finally Agere. He dedicated his professional life to innovation and precision, and later retired.
A man of many interests and talents, Roger was known for his love of vintage audio equipment—particularly receivers, which he enjoyed collecting and meticulously refurbishing. He also had a passion for working on cars, especially his favorite, the Chevrolet Corvair. His hands were rarely idle, and he found joy in bringing old technology back to life. Roger was passionate about making sure his family was well taken care of. He always was helping out his neighbors and friends.
Roger leaves behind his sister, Sarah Callow of Trappe. Roger will be remembered for his quiet strength, technical curiosity, and dedication to his craft. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service to honor Roger's life will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City, PA. Friends are invited to visit with the family prior to the service at the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Burial will immediately follow the service at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, 39 Bonnie Brae Road, Spring City, PA 19475. Neighbors and classmates will have a celebration of life announced at a later date.
